Rodarius Marcell Green (born on 27 August 1998) also known as Rod Wave, is an American musician and rapper. [3][4][5] He is known for his powerful voice and incorporation of R&B and hip hopand has been hailed as a pioneer in soul-trap.Wave rose to fame with the 2019 single "Heart on Ice", which went viral on YouTube and TikTok and hit number 25 on the Billboard Hot 100. [7] Wave's debut album, Ghetto Gospel (2019) was a top 10 album on the US Billboard 200. The second album Pray 4 Love (2020), peaked at number 2 on the Billboard 100, and included the track "Rags2Riches", which reached the top spot at 12 on the Hot 100. The third album, SoulFly (2021), debuts at number one on the Billboard 200 (marking his first chart-topping album). Wave's professional career began in 2016 with the release of his mixtape Hunger Games Vol.1. Before signing with Alamo Records, he released several mixtapes by himself. He released his mixtape PTSD on the 14th of June in 2019, featuring the song "Heart on Ice". The song was viral across YouTube, TikTok and reached 25th in the Billboard Hot 100. Wave's debut album Ghetto Gospel (November 1, 2019) came out. It peaked at the number 10 spot on the US Billboard 200. Rod Wave's second album Pray 4 Love was released April 3, 2020. It was released at the 2nd spot on the Billboard 200. A deluxe edition followed on August 7. The album was released at number 2 on the Billboard 200, with a deluxe edition following on August 7. Wave was selected to XXL's 2020 Freshman Class on August 11, 2020. 15 July, 2020, Wave revealed during an interview that he was working on his third album, which was originally planned for release on August 27, 2020. [2] He revealed the track list for the album SoulFly on March 6 2021. The song that topped the charts, "Street Runner", was also on the album. It peaked at 11 on the Hot 100.
